My aim is to provide a reasonably
priced private teaching service which will communicate my knowledge,
experience and passion for music.
Many promising young musicians are
hampered by the peripatetic system which gives pupils short lessons in groups. Students, no matter what age, should ideally be given the undivided
personal attention of their teacher to provide a lesson which encourages
their strengths and constructively identifies areas for improvement.
Although most beginners are of school
age, I welcome the chance to teach older students who have just decided
to learn, or have rediscovered the clarinet. I have had the pleasure
of playing with many older students who have found a new lease of life
since taking up music.
I have had the privilege of studying
under two brilliant teachers and this has given me a very balanced approach
to my own teaching methods, which include the use of studies, scales,
exercises and performance technique as well as simply learning pieces.
If you are curious and would like
to know more about what a lesson would involve, please get in touch
with me through the contact section of the website.
